Un frizzante vento di maestrale, in una bella giornata di sole, ha allietato l’operosità dei volontari dell’Associazione ‘L’Aquilone’. Alle prime ore della mattina, dopo aver provveduto a preparare il terreno destinato alla coltivazione dell’orto, si è passati alla piantumazione degli ortaggi di stagione. Esperienza salutare di benessere a contatto con la natura la realizzazione del Progetto ‘Ortofruttando’ che si svolge nel Garden ‘Tancrede Roy’, nato grazie alla disponibilità di un socio che ha concesso l’uso del terreno e grazie alla beneficenza della Famiglia Roy di Boston (USA).
Volontari dediti alla ‘sistemazione’ del terreno che, a breve, aprirà i battenti per la fruizione alle strutture sanitarie, associazioni, scuole e a chiunque voglia godere di momenti rilassanti, immersi in un polmone verde tra ortaggi, piante da frutto, e varietà di fiori. Ognuno di loro, con la propria professionalità e voglia di fare per il prossimo, si applica con cura per la buona riuscita e per il raggiungimento delle finalità che il Progetto sociale si propone. Così, ha dichiarato il presidente dell’Associazione ‘L’Aquilone’, Lo Faro Rosario: “Abbiamo, noi tutti, la voglia di fare, di esprimerci in qualcosa che metta in evidenza i veri valori della vita, inculcarli alle nuove generazioni, ai bambini in tenera età, ai diversamente abili e alle loro famiglie. Nell’Orto Sociale, al quale abbiamo dato il nome di ‘Ortofruttando’, si avrà la possibilità di vedere in un terreno libero da pesticidi gli ortaggi di stagione, gli agrumi e tante specie di piante anche acquatiche e un laghetto di pesci e tartarughe, non ultimo in fase di allestimento, un vero percorso per la fotografia naturalista”.
Dalla teoria alla pratica, tutto in un unico percorso. Niente libri e quaderni, ma, semi, piantine e zappa, ‘sporcarsi le mani’ con la terra è il motto che accompagnerà la didattica. Gli operatori dell’Associazione condivideranno con i baby coltivatori esperienze concrete che sono, allo stesso tempo, divertenti e istruttive. L’Orto didattico è anche un modo per fare educazione alimentare, in modo che sin da piccoli si comprenda l’importanza della qualità dei cibi, fondamentale per la nostra buona salute. La finalità del Progetto tende a creare comunità di apprendimento formate dagli insegnanti, piccoli studenti e le loro famiglie. La speranza è che i bambini imparino a coltivare, oltre agli ortaggi, anche il rispetto per la natura e l’ambiente chi li circonda.

Messina – Project “Ortofruttando” among flowers, vegetables and the natural beauties of lake Ganzirri
A sparkling mistral wind, on a beautiful sunny day, cheered the industriousness of the volunteers of the ‘L’Aquilone’ Association. In the early hours of the morning, after having prepared the land for the cultivation of the garden, we moved on to the planting of seasonal vegetables. Healthy wellness experience in contact with nature the realization of the ‘Ortofruttando’ Project which takes place in the Garden ‘Tancrede Roy’, born thanks to the availability of a partner who has granted the use of the land and thanks to the charity of the Roy Family of Boston (USA).
Volunteers dedicated to the ‘arrangement’ of the land which, soon, will open its doors for the use of health facilities, associations, schools and anyone who wants to enjoy relaxing moments, immersed in a green lung among vegetables, fruit plants, and variety of flowers . Each of them, with their own professionalism and desire to do for others, applies with care for the success and the achievement of the goals that the Social Project proposes. Thus, declared the president of the Association ‘L’Aquilone’, Lo Faro Rosario: “We all have the will to do, to express ourselves in something that highlights the true values of life, inculcating them to the new generations, to the young children, the disabled and their families. In the Social Garden, to which we have given the name of ‘Ortofruttando’, there will be the possibility of seeing seasonal vegetables, citrus fruits and many species of plants, including aquatic plants and a fish and turtle pond, in pesticide-free land, not least in the stage of preparation, a real path for naturalist photography “.

The operators of the Association will share concrete experiences with the baby farmers that are both fun and educational at the same time. The didactic Garden is also a way to make nutrition education, so that from an early age we understand the importance of food quality, which is fundamental for our good health. The purpose of the Project tends to create learning communities formed by teachers, small students and their families. The hope is that children will learn to cultivate, in addition to vegetables, respect for nature and the environment around them.
